Police in Montgomery Township were called to the corner of Bethlehem Pike and Garden Golf Boulevard when a motorcycle and a pickup truck collided late on April 12, the department previously said in a release.

The motorcyclist, now identified as Ramirez, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. Investigators believe the crash occurred when Ramirez was heading straight on the Pike and the pickup truck was making a left-hand turn onto Garden Golf Boulevard.

The driver of the pickup truck, who police say is a 70-year-old Virginia man, was not reported injured.

Ramirez's classmates and neighbors were notified of his death by North Penn School District administrators in an emailed statement.

"It is with great sadness that I inform you of the recent death of NPHS senior, Servio Ramirez, who died in a motorcycle accident last night," the statement read in part. "NPHS counselors, as always, are available to speak with students about this loss and the emotions they may be experiencing."

"As both a principal and as a parent, I can think of no worse tragedy than the loss of a child and I know you join me in extending heartfelt sympathy to the family," said NPHS Principal Kyle Hassler.

"This should have been a celebratory time for Servio’s family as they prepared to watch their son graduate. Please keep the Ramirez family in your thoughts as they grieve the loss of their son."

The accident remains under investigation, and anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Montgomery Township police at 215-362-2301.
